About Our Youth Coalition

The Youth Leadership Prevention Council is dedicated to raising awareness about substance abuse prevention, distributing resources, and encouraging community involvement to promote well-being. We aim to achieve healthy, equitable outcomes through research-informed and socially just programs and policies.

Our Goals

We're working to lower underage drinking in Bolton by 5% by September 29, 2027, measured through biennial surveys of students in grades 9-12. Simultaneously, we're committed to making our community coalition stronger and more effective by increasing member involvement, adding new sector groups, and expanding opportunities for prevention activities.

Three Reasons to Join Our Coalition:

  • Community Outreach - Make a real impact by connecting with peers, families, and community members to spread awareness about substance abuse prevention and promote healthier choices throughout Bolton.

  • Leadership Experience - Develop essential leadership skills while helping strengthen our coalition, recruit new members from diverse sectors, and create meaningful prevention activities that benefit our entire community.

  • Public Speaking Experience - Build confidence and communication abilities by presenting prevention resources, advocating for evidence-based policies, and speaking to various community groups about substance abuse prevention.

Join us in creating a healthier Bolton where young people have the knowledge, resources, and community support to make informed decisions about their well-being. Together, we can achieve our prevention goals and build a stronger, more connected community.
